Old Business:
2011 Recap
Over all a very successful year with some minor issues mostly at the flag
level. Discussion ensued.
Pumpkin Bowl
Both Paw Paw teams lost but had a good time. Will consider doing next year.
Babin & NFL
We received a large donation from Jason Babin that was matched by the NFL.
The matched funds have restrictions on what they are used for and the
expenditures must be reported to the NFL. Lori Reo is working with Matt
Cooper to report this properly.
Scoreboard Status
The I-beams have been delivered. Thanks to Jeff Loehrs for ordering them
and to Mike Hiestand and Lounsbury’s Excavating for handling the delivery.
Ben, Ernie and Don will paint them this Saturday. Lounsbury has offered
to assist in the installation. Steve Williams is working with the Village
to figure out how to get power to the board.
Equipment Share with Youth Baseball
Jessica will meet with Mike Hiestand to develop an agreement with Youth
Baseball since we are sharing equipment now. The agreement is to define
how we handle repairs and such.
New Business:
2012 Registration Fees (2011 was $45/$45/$55 with 15 late fee) & Concessions
Agreed to keep fees the same for 2012. A portion of the fee and all monies
collected from the late fee will go toward paying for Paw Paw students to
work concessions. We will not have parents work concessions due to
continued lack of support from them. Thank you to those that showed for
their shifts and to those that worked additional shifts to help out.
8/9 Flag
We discussed offering an 8/9 Flag league as well as our normal “pad” team.
This would be for kids that don’t feel comfortable with the “hitting”
aspect of football yet but still enjoy the game. It was discussed with
not a lot of support will revisit in the spring
Camps
Ben asked for permission to plan and organize camps for next summer.
Permission was granted. Among the camps will hopefully be a week long camp
at the end of summer ran by the Detroit Lions Youth Program. The camp
will include Lions Players. It was suggested we contact Jason Babin to
see if he would be interested in putting on a youth camp.
Equipment Order
Jessica was given authority to begin ordering supplies for the 2012 year.
